The Problem with Manual Reporting
Client reporting is one of those tasks that every agency knows is important but nobody enjoys doing. At the end of each month, someone on the team logs into Google Ads, pulls the numbers, switches to Microsoft Ads for another set, opens Meta Ads Manager for a third, and then spends hours stitching everything into a coherent story inside a slide deck or spreadsheet.
The process is slow, repetitive, and error-prone. A misplaced decimal in a CPA calculation, a chart that references last month's date range, a forgotten account that wasn't included — these mistakes erode client trust, and they happen more often when reporting is rushed.
Worse, the time cost scales linearly. Ten clients means ten reports. Twenty clients means twenty. Agencies routinely lose one to two full days each month to reporting alone — days that could be spent on strategy, optimization, or new business development.
Automated scheduling changes that equation entirely. Instead of building each report by hand, you configure the schedule once and let Blueprint handle the rest.
How Scheduled Reports Work
Setting up an automated report takes about two minutes. You select a client, choose a cadence — weekly, monthly, or quarterly — and configure the report settings. Blueprint does the rest on schedule.
Step 1: Choose a Client and Cadence
Pick from your existing clients, each with their ad accounts already mapped. Then select how often you want reports generated. Monthly is the most common choice, but weekly works well for high-spend accounts that need closer monitoring, and quarterly suits clients who prefer a bigger-picture view.
Step 2: Configure Report Settings
Set your preferences for the report content. Blueprint automatically determines the date range based on your cadence — the previous calendar month for monthly reports, the previous 7 days for weekly, and the previous quarter for quarterly. The AI narrative, KPI calculations, and trend charts all adjust to match the selected period. You can also pre-fill standing recommendations or notes that should appear in every report.
Step 3: Activate and Walk Away
Once activated, Blueprint's background worker generates the report at the start of each new period. It pulls the latest data from all connected ad accounts, calculates KPIs with period-over-period comparisons, generates the AI executive narrative, applies your white-label branding, and publishes the report with a secure shareable link. You receive a notification when each report is ready, giving you the option to review before sharing — or you can let it deliver automatically.
What's in an Automated Report
Automated reports contain the same eight sections as manually created reports. There is no difference in quality or completeness — the only difference is who clicks the "Generate" button.
- Header with Dual Logos — Your agency logo alongside the client's logo, with the report title and date range prominently displayed.
- Executive Summary KPIs — Six metric cards (spend, impressions, clicks, conversions, CPA, ROAS) with period-over-period comparisons calculated automatically.
- AI-Generated Executive Narrative — A concise, AI-written summary that highlights the period's key performance trends and notable changes.
- What We Did — A change log of actions your team took during the reporting period, pulled from Blueprint's activity tracking.
- Performance by Account — Individual breakdowns by ad account (Google, Microsoft, Meta) with account-level KPIs.
- Conversion Performance — Conversion metrics across all accounts, including conversion rate, cost per conversion, and conversion value.
- Trends — Dual area charts showing spend and conversion trends across the reporting period.
- Recommendations & Notes — Your team's strategic recommendations, including any standing notes configured in the schedule.
Every report uses your white-label branding. The agency logo, client logo, and brand colors are applied automatically using the same cascading resolution as manual reports — client-specific color first, then agency color, then the default teal. No Blueprint branding is visible anywhere on the published report.
Reports are also available for PDF export. Whether generated manually or by the scheduler, any published report can be downloaded as a print-ready PDF — useful for clients who prefer email attachments or need reports for internal presentations.
Client Delivery: Shared Links with No Login Required
Every published report — whether created manually or by the scheduler — gets a unique URL with a cryptographically secure token. Your clients click the link and see the full report immediately in their browser. No account creation, no login page, no password to remember.
This is intentional. The biggest friction point in client reporting isn't the data — it's getting clients to actually look at the report. Every extra step between "here's your report" and "I can see the data" reduces the chance they'll engage with it. A direct link with no authentication barrier removes that friction entirely.
For agencies managing multiple clients, batch generation is a significant time saver. Instead of creating reports one at a time, you can generate reports for all scheduled clients in a single operation, review them in a queue, and publish in bulk. Combined with automated scheduling, this means your entire client roster can receive updated reports without any manual intervention.
If you ever need to revoke access to a report, you can unpublish it at any time. The link stops working immediately, and clients see a clean "report unavailable" message.
Getting Started
Automated report scheduling is available on the Pro plan ($75/month per connected ad account). Manual report creation remains available on all plans, including the free tier — Free plans retain reports for 90 days, while Pro retains them indefinitely.
Here's how to set up your first automated schedule:
- Configure your agency branding in Settings. Upload your agency logo and set your primary brand color. This only needs to be done once.
- Create clients and map their ad accounts. Upload each client's logo and optionally set client-specific brand colors for reports that match their guidelines.
- Navigate to Client Reports and select "Schedules." Click "New Schedule," choose a client, set the cadence (weekly, monthly, or quarterly), and configure any standing recommendations.
- Activate the schedule. Blueprint will generate the first report at the start of the next period. You'll receive a notification when it's ready.
Once the schedule is active, reports generate automatically. You can review each report before sharing, or trust the automation and let clients receive their links without intervention. Either way, the days of scrambling to build reports from scratch are over.
For teams that want even more control, report template customization lets you save specific configurations — which sections to include, default recommendations, and formatting preferences — so every report follows a consistent structure across your entire client roster.
- Automated scheduling generates branded client reports on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly cadence with no manual effort.
- Every report includes 8 sections: KPI cards, AI narrative, change log, account breakdowns, conversions, trends, and recommendations.
- White-label branding applies automatically — your agency logo, client logo, and custom colors with no Blueprint branding visible.
- Clients view reports via secure shareable links in their browser — no login, no account creation required.
- Scheduling is a Pro feature. Manual reports are available on all plans with PDF export, batch generation, and template customization.
