How budget pacing works
Blueprint syncs spend data daily from every connected platform. Here's what happens behind the scenes.
Daily sync
Background workers pull daily spend records from Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Meta Ads via OAuth 2.0. Data is cached at 5-minute intervals so the dashboard always reflects near-real-time status.
Pacing calculation
Blueprint divides your monthly budget by the days in the month to create an ideal daily pacing line. It compares actual cumulative spend against this line and computes a deviation percentage — classified as On Track, Overspending, or Underspending.
EOM projection
Using your current spending velocity, Blueprint projects where you'll land at month-end. If you're trending 15% over budget on day 12, you'll know — with time to adjust bids, pause campaigns, or reallocate.
Everything you see in the pacing dashboard
Budget pacing isn't just a progress bar. It's a full suite of views designed to surface problems before they cost you money.
5-KPI overview row
Total budget, total spend, projected EOM spend, deviation percentage, and pacing status — all visible at a glance before you scroll.
Spend-over-time chart
Toggle between daily and cumulative views. The ideal pacing line overlays your actual spend so you can see divergence at any point in the month.
Day-of-week chart
See which days of the week spend more or less. If weekends consistently underspend, you'll know to front-load budget or adjust scheduling.
Campaign sparklines
Expand any account row to see campaign-level breakdowns with 14-day spend trend sparklines. Lazy-loaded to keep the initial page fast.
Month navigation
Browse pacing for any previous month with dedicated year/month selectors. Compare how this month is tracking against last month's final numbers.
Inline budget targets
Haven't set targets yet? Create them directly from the pacing dashboard. First-time users get a confirmation modal explaining how targets work — no separate setup flow needed.
Cascading filters
Filter by platform, then by account. Selecting a platform resets the account filter automatically. KPIs, charts, and the pacing table all update together.
Spend-only fallback
No budget targets? Blueprint still shows Total Spend, Average Daily Spend, and Peak Spend Day with full chart visibility — so new users get value from day one.
Platform support
Budget pacing tracks spend across all three platforms Blueprint connects to. Every capability below is supported equally.
